City Reception and Get-Together Party

ICT building (symposium venue)
Saturday, 24 May, at 18.00 - 20.00
Free participation: pre-registration needed

All participants and registered accompanying persons are warmly invited to the XI PET Symposium’s Get-Together party and City Reception. The party is held at the symposium venue, ICT building, one of the newest university buildings. Come and meet some old friends and make new ones. Light refreshments will be served with live music.

Sauna Party - fully booked!

Naantali, Metsä Jukola
Sunday, 25 May, at 18.15 (bus transportation from hotels)
Free participation: pre-registration needed

As many times before, the very popular Sauna Party is held on Sunday evening in Naantali at Metsä Jukola. During the evening you can bath in sauna, swim in the sea, enjoy the beautiful scenery of archipelago and take part in different outdoor games. Buffet dinner is included.
This event will mainly take place outside if the weather is good so dress accordingly. Remember to bring also your swimsuit. Towels will be provided.
Please note that the number of participants in the Sauna Party is limited and places are filled in order of registration, so register early!


Turku Cathedral
Monday, 26 May, at 18.30
Free participation

The evening starts with a short presentation about the Turku Cathedral, our national shrine, and the history of Turku dating back to the 13th century. After this we will hear modern hymn arrangements performed by famous jazz trio Perko-Pyysalo-Viinikainen.

Old Academy Hall

Tickets 50 €, pre-registration needed
Dress code: Smart Casual

After the concert the evening continues at the Old Academy Hall, next to the Cathedral, where we will enjoy a symposium dinner. Old Academy Hall, built in 1815, was the former main building of the Royal Academy of Turku, which was the first university in Finland. Today the Old Academy Hall serves University of Turku and Åbo Akademi, as a place where very many academic ceremonies are held.
