Scand-LAS 2015

Call for Abstracts


Abstract submission has ended.


Participants are invited to submit abstracts to the Scand-LAS 2015 for oral or poster presentation on the following themes:

Programme will cover the principles of 3R´s focusing especially on Refining
* Development of animal models and research methods
* Establishment of directive 63/2010 in practise, pros and cons
* Practical work of institutional animal welfare bodies
* Education and training
* REACH, OECD Principles of GLP and regulatory studies
* Facts and fictions about alternative methods in safety studies
* Other

The abstracts will be presented as oral presentations (max. 15 min) or as poster presentations.

Important dates
Abstract submission deadline 16 March 2015
Notification of abstract acceptance 23 March 2015
Deadline for registration and payment 31 March 2015

Publication of abstracts
All accepted abstracts will be published in the congress programme and abstract book. The abstracts that have been selected for poster presentation will be published in SJLAS (Scandinavian Journal of Laboratory Animal Science). The authors whose abstract has been selected for oral presentation will be asked to prepare a manuscript of the study to be published in SJLAS. The manuscripts will undergo a normal review system for publication.

Important: The author, marked in the submission system as the presenting author, must register as a participant and pay the congress participation fee by 31 March 2015, otherwise the abstract will be removed from the programme.

All presenting authors will be notified of abstract acceptance/refusal by 23 March 2015. In case you have not received information by 23 March 2015, please contact immediately the Congress Office: congress-office@utu.fi.

Writing Guidelines
1. The maximum number of words in the abstract body text is 300
2. The abstract must be written in English.
3. The abstract should consist of introduction, objectives, methods, results and conclusion, or otherwise a coherent body
4. Do not include tables, graphs or special symbols in abstracts
5. Do not include references or key words
6. Please see the model abstract on the submission system
