Scand-LAS 2015

Welcome to the 45th Annual Meeting and Educational Days of Scand-LAS 2015 in Turku, Finland.

The preliminary programme of the educational days can now be found on the page “programme” and will be updated accordingly as more speakers confirm. We are also looking forward to receiving abstracts to choose some of them to be presented as oral presentations. Please note that the abstract submission deadline is 15 March 2015.

There are workshops on eight different topics on the afternoon of Tuesday, 9 June. Remember to register as soon as possible as the workshops will be filled in on a “first come, first served” basis. In the evening, you are invited to Exhibitors’ evening, during which you will have a chance to visit the exhibition, and enjoy snacks and drinks.

During the next two and a half days, there will be lectures from scientific, social and practical viewpoints concerning the use of animals and the roles of animal models and their environment in the translational research, as well as education of animal users and assuring animal welfare in the light of Directive 2010/63/EU.

The speakers come from universities, research institutes, pharmaceutical and drug development companies as well as from organisations having different viewpoints to the use of animals for scientific or educational purposes.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Scand-LAS 2015 and hope you will enjoy the interesting meeting in the excellent venue, and the good social program. June in Finland is a pleasant time of the year and the days are long, with nearly 20 hours of daylight.
