Dear all,
The organisation committee proudly announces that the first ScanBalt Biomaterials Days conference will be organised on 26th - 28th of September 2007.
The aim of the Conference is to strengthen the cooperation in the field of Regenerative Medicine and Biomaterials research among the North-European countries, i.e. the ScanBalt countries. In order to enhance the networking both from the academic and industrial point of view the knowledge in the different regions are reported and discussed. The focus of this conference is on academic research and possible industrial applications in the future.
The main organizer Turku Biomaterials Centre (BMC) is part of the BioTurku®, the leading biotechnology centre in Finland, an active and dynamic community of bio actors. The BioTurku® cluster comprises about 90 biotechnology companies as well as three universities, several educational and research institutes - altogether about 100 actors. Regenerative Medicine and biomaterials related research in the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University is one of the main indication areas in BioTurku®. The two universities share one campus area in a historical location of the city of Turku, established in 1229. The same campus additionally houses e.g. the Turku University Central Hospital. The Biomaterials Research Programme in Turku comprises a strong multidisciplinary know-how concentration. The researchers in BioTurku® are proud of the opportunity to advance modern life sciences in the same campus area where the first academic scientists worked in Finland in the 17th and 18th centuries.
We welcome all the professionals, colleagues and friends in the research field of regenerative medicine and biomaterials to Turku to participate in the first ScanBalt Biomaterials Days on 26th - 28th of September 2007.
