The Scandinavian Neuropathological Society and the University of Turku, Finland welcome you to the X Northern Lights Neuroscience Symposium (NLNS), which will be held at Naantali Spa/Nådendal about 17 km north-west of Turku 23-25 May 2013. This series of symposia focuses on a single topic of neuropathological interest with invited lecturers from different branches of neuroscience. The theme for the X NLNS is "Inflammatory reaction in brain disorders". Different aspects of inflammation in the CNS will be covered, eg in neurodegenerative diseases, demyelinating disorders and connective tissue diseases. There will also be lectures on general brain immunology. A joint meeting with BrainNet Europe on "Mystery cases" concludes the Symposium.

Naantali is a small seaside town with a surrounding archipelago. It was founded in 1443. The town has a long spa tradition. The present Naantali Spa Hotel, where the Symposium will take place, began its activity in the mid 1980s. The Spa Hotel has excellent conference facilities and of course it will be possible to get a treatment during the visit.

Naantali is easy to reach from Turku and Helsinki. To Turku there are flights from many European cities. From Stockholm it is also possible to travel on a ferry through a most magnificent archipelago.
