The City of Turku warmly welcomes all congress participants to a reception. Light refreshments will be served. The bus transfer to the VPK (Voluntary Fire Brigade) House from the Educarium parking place (the north side of the building) right after the parallel sessions at 18.30.
PhD Pub, Brewery Restaurant Koulu, address: Eerikinkatu 18

The gathering for PhD students will be held at Restaurant Koulu (School), which is the largest brewery restaurant in Finland and the most specialised of the pubs in Turku.
Floorball Tournament, Friday 16 March at 17.30
The annual floorball tournament takes place in Lietohalli. Please bring your own indoor shoes. The Tournament is free of charge. If you do not want to play, you are most welcome to come along and cheer for your favourite team! The bus transfer to the Lietohalli from from the Educarium parking place (the north side of the building) at 17.30.
Finnish Sauna and Winter Swimming, Friday 16 March at 17.30
An opportunity to relax in the traditional Finnish Sauna in the beautiful surroundings of Airisto in the Turku Archipelago. Airisto provides a unique atmosphere to enjoy the evening by the beautiful seaside. Light refreshments will be served. Not included in the registration fee. The bus transfer from the Educarium parking place (the north side of the building) at 17.30.
Turku Sightseeing Tour, Friday 16 March at 17.30
A guided bus tour provides a good overall picture of Turku and its history. The tour includes a visit to the unique St Henriks Art Chapel in the Hirvensalo Island. Not included in the registration fee. The tour starts from the Educarium parking place (the north side of the building) at 17.30.
Congress Dinner, Saturday 17 March at 19.00
A festive banquet in the Turku Castle, one of the greatest examples of Finnish cultural heritage, will be a truly memorable experience. In the Middle Ages the castle was often visited by monarchs and became an important administrative centre. In the 16th century, Duke John and his charming spouse Catharina Jagellonica established a luxurious renaissance court in the castle. Bus transportation is arranged from all congress hotels at 18.30. Not included in the registration fee.

Åbo Svenska Teater
Åbo Svenska Teater (Turku Swedish Theatre) is the oldest theatre in Finland still operating and has entertained audiences by Turku´s Market Square since 1839. The programme of the time-honoured theatre is eternally youthful and offers great theatre for all who enjoy dramatic art.

Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova
Aboa Vetus (Old Turku) & Ars Nova (contemporary art) is a museum of archaeological history and modern art. The museum was opened in 1995. It is maintained by the Matti Koivurinta Foundation.
The main task of Aboa Vetus is to take care of the ancient remains of buildings found in the so-called ‘Monastery Quarter’ during archaeological excavations in the city block dating back to the Middle Ages. Ars Nova maintains and displays the art collection of the Matti Koivurinta Foundation and organises interesting exhibitions of contemporary art, both from Finland and abroad. The focal points of the museum are the unique period of the Middle Ages, fascinating contemporary art, extensive teaching work, cultural events and top-quality auxiliary services, such as the Laurentius Museum Shop and the Aula Café. Turku Art Museum
Turku Art Museum has since 1904 been one of the most influential institutions in the local and national art scene. The internationally acclaimed collection of the museum comprises old masterpieces as well as important contemporary works. Changelings, the new collection display, tells the story of Finnish art in general and highlight the role of art and artists from Turku in particular. Address: Aurakatu 26.
