Heidi Harju-Luukkainen

Heidi Harju-LuukkainenHeidi Harju-Luukkainen is a University Lecturer and PhD at the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Helsinki. She also works at the University of Gothenburg and as a specialist at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research at the University of Jyväskylä. In 2014 she was elected president of the parents’ association “Förbundet Hem och skola i Finland r.f.”. She also takes part in several national and international developmental and research projects. Heidi has published numerous articles, books and conference papers on her specialties, which are connected to language learning, bilingualism, educational equality and students’ educational outcomes in PISA 2009 and 2012.

Kirsti Lonka

Kirsti LonkaKirsti Lonka is Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Helsinki. She is a founding member of the University of Helsinki Teachers’ Academy. Kirsti is also the Director of the Research Group of Educational Psychology, and the Principal Investigator of the Project “Mind the Gap – between digital natives and educational practices”.
Kirsti is a popular keynote speaker around the world. She has published numerous articles and conference papers as well as contributed to books. She has also published a number of textbooks and popular writings. Her specialties are higher education, medical education, teacher education, and postgraduate education (PhD students). At the moment, she is working on innovations in higher education and engaging learning environments (ELE).

Lasse Leponiemi

Lasse LeponiemiLasse Leponiemi is a Partner and the Head of Operations at Scool, a company focusing on education formats. Lasse has been working with youth education and career planning since 2003. In 2008, he founded an e-student counseling and marketing service whose clientele included everyone in Finland that was interested in university studies, reaching over 100.000 students monthly. When the company merged with the biggest prep-course provider in Finland in 2011 Lasse co-founded the NGO Mentors of Finland, which helps over 400 unemployed young people get a job every year. Since 2012 he has been working at Scool developing educational concepts such as Dreamdo Schools and Campus seminars – used by forerunner teachers in 24 countries.

Sanna Lukander

Sanna Lukander is the Vice President of Rovio's Learning unit. She joined Rovio in summer of 2011 to lead the Book Publishing unit, an enthusiastic team of publishing professionals who have compiled a delightful – and sometimes surprising – list of publications that are set to entertain
readers and fans alike. Sanna Lukander is an experienced veteran in book and educational publishing and is based at Rovio’s headquarters in Espoo, Finland.

Kirsi Vuorinen

Kirsi VuorinenKirsi Vuorinen is Content Manager responsible for primary and secondary English at Sanoma Pro Ltd, where she has been working for six years. Prior to this, she gained educational publishing experience in Otava Publishing Company, as well as educational experience as an English teacher in both primary and secondary schools in various schools. She holds a BA degree in English from the University of Turku.
