The conference venue ICT building
The conference is held in the new ICT building in the Turku Science Park area, a stone’s throw from the Kupittaa railway station. Street address Joukahaisenkatu 3-5.
Note: The short course on Sunday will be held in Gadolinia Building, Porthansgatan 3, Åbo Akademi University.

Bus transportation
Each morning from the conference hotels to the conference venue ICT building as follows:

Monday, 21 September
at 9:00

Tuesday, 22 September - Thursday, 24 September
at 8:30

Bus 1: Hotel Helmi and Centro Hotel
Bus 2: Radisson Blu Marina Palace and Holiday Inn
Bus 3 & Bus 4: Sokos Hotel Hamburger Börs & City Börs (front of Hotel Hamburger Börs)

In addition to morning transportations, on Wednesday, 23 September, there will be a return transportation from the ICT building to conference hotels in the afternoon at 16:45, and again from the conference hotels to the conference dinner at the Turku castle at 18:30. Return transportation from the castle to hotels at around 22:45.

Turku, the conference city
Turku is the oldest university town and the former capital of Finland. Turku is well-known for its location in the beautiful archipelago.

Current weather in Turku

Official languages in Finland are Finnish and Swedish. Most people (particularly young people) have also basic knowledge of English. You should have no problems communicating in English.

Electrical appliances
The electric current in Finland is 220V (230V), 50Hz. Plugs are two-pin continental sizes.

The Finnish currency unit is Euro. You can exchange foreign currency and traveller's cheques either in banks or in Forex (currency exchange company, address: Eerikinkatu 13, 20100 Turku, a stone's throw of the Market Square). Banks are open from 10.00 to 16.30 on weekdays and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There are numerous cash machines open around the clock and accepting all major credit cards. Major credit cards, in particular Visa, Eurocard and Mastercard are widely accepted almost everywhere (in hotels, restaurants, shops, taxis, cafeterias, bars, etc.).
